Weight machines
are safer and more convenient than free weights
If you’re just starting out on
your weight training program, you’ll want to look at some weight
machines. After all, in order to start a weight training program,
you’ll need some sort of weight training equipment. The basic
choice you’ll have is between weight machines and free weights.
While you can do free weights if you would prefer, it’s
recommended that people who are just getting into weight training
don’t because machines are safer.
The reason weight machines are
safer than free weights is because the machines will restrict your
range of movement, which makes it less easy for you to over extend
and hurt yourself. Free weights, however, allow you to move in any
direction. This can definitely result in injury if you haven’t
learned how to use free weights.
Another benefit of weight
machines is that you don’t have to worry about deciding on which
dumbbell to use, or get stuck needing to buy a new dumbbells when
you get too used to the ones you have. Once you have a weight
machine, you will have all of the resistance levels that you need
for all of your exercises right there and ready to be changed if
needed.
Finally, don’t worry about weight
machines taking up too much room in your house. The best home gyms
on the market are built to be compact, or so that you can fold
them up into a smaller form for storage. If you want a safe piece
of weight training equipment that will work for your whole weight
training experience, you should definitely take a look at a weight
machine.
