Get better
workouts with a stair stepper
If you’re tired of using your old
treadmill or exercise bike, it may be time for you to find a new
piece of exercise equipment. A stair stepper can provide just the
change you’re looking for and is also a step up if you’re looking
for a more strenuous work out. After all, you can only set your
bicycle resistance so high, and your treadmill will only incline
so far before you have to stop. A stepper, however, provides a
hard, fat destroying workout every time.
When you’re looking for a
stepper, the most important thing to look at is the action of the
pedals. Pedals that move independently of one another are ideal
because they give you a better workout and they are safer. With
dependent action pedals, when one foot goes down it will push the
other foot up. This is not something that you want, because you
won’t have to use all the muscles that you should be to lift your
foot up that high. Also, independent action pedals allow you to
get off easier if for any reason you need to get off quickly.
Instead of a dependent pedal system where putting one foot on
floor level will force the other foot up, you can ride both pedals
to the floor and step off safely.
Another thing that you should
check is whether or not the stair stepper that you’re looking at
has a simple to read display. This display is important so that
you can keep track of your work out, and make sure that you’re
keeping your heart rate at your target level. This shouldn’t be
much of a problem, however, as most models come with a simple to
use electronic display.
