Stair steppers
will give you a great lower body workout
Stair steppers are ideal pieces
of exercise equipment if you’re looking for a cardio workout that
will focus on increasing strength in your legs. Steppers are
especially good if you want a hard hitting cardio work out. Cardio
exercise is highly important for weight loss as well as for daily
living.
A stair stepper will work all the
major muscle groups in your lower body, and some steppers allow
you to purchase separate add-ons that will allow you to work your
upper body at the same time.
There are some important things
to look at if you’re going to buy a stair stepper. First, take a
look at the pedals. Dependent pedals will be easier for you to
exercise with. With dependent pedals, the pressure of one foot
going down forces the other foot back up, and vice versa. Also,
look at the pedal mechanism. Some steppers use hydraulic pistons
while others just use cables and chains. The models that use
hydraulics will probably cost less, however cables and chains
generally last longer.
Another thing to consider about
stair steppers is that it might be better to get a model that
doesn’t have side railings. This is because side railings tend to
encourage you to lean to one side or the other while exercising
which will both reduce the impact of your exercise as well as
encourage poor exercise posture.
