Free weights are
a cheaper alternative to a weight lifting machine
If you’ve ever found yourself
bored with a regular exercise machine, there is an alternative for
you. Instead of a weight lifting machine that only allows a very
restricted range of movement, free weights allow you to get the
exercise that you want. Also, since movement isn’t restricted with
free weights, you can easily try new exercises and keep things
interesting for you.
Free weights also allow you to
get a better and more personalized exercise routine. I’m sure
you’ve experienced an exercise machine that you just can’t get set
up absolutely correctly no matter how hard you try. Well, you
don’t have to worry about that problem if you do a free weight
lifting. You’ll never have to adjust a seat or weight set again,
as free weight exercise only require that you have the weights.
Before starting any exercise
routine that involves using free weights, make sure that you learn
about the exercises that you intend to attempt. If you don’t
research the exercises properly, there’s a chance that you could
get hurt. This is one of the trade offs. While you can do a wider
and better range of exercises you just need to be careful.
There is one more major benefit
to using free weights, which is cost. Exercise equipment and
especially weight lifting machines, tend to be very expensive.
However, with just a few barbells, you can easily work all of your
major muscle groups and replicate the exercises that you get with
a weight lifting machine.
