Comparing treadmills is never an easy proposition, and since the sums of money that are involved can be reasonably high, it is also a difficult decision to make which can end up with the customer paying extra dollars for features they do not need. For example, the Life Fitness treadmill is available in two extremes, one costing twice as much as the other, and the question is whether the more expensive Life Fitness treadmill has features which justify this.

Firstly, we should point out that neither Life Fitness treadmill we compared is in the cheap end of the market, they are professional grade machines designed primarily for heavy home use, or in a fitness center. The key points that they share in common are the automatic waxing of the running board which ensures that downtime is minimized, and that there is a standard heart rate monitor which takes readings through sensors in the hand grips.

Where the two models in the Life Fitness treadmill range differ substantially is in the quality of the running deck, and the additional workout features. The cheaper model has a standard deck, which, while solid, does not offer any additional cushioning. It also does not come with a chest strap heart monitor, nor the advanced monitoring electronics that the more expensive model is fitted with.

This means that for those who really want to monitor their fitness level, and will be spending a lot of time running on it, the more expensive File Fitness treadmill will be a better choice. The question which can only be answered by the customer is whether the extra money justifies the more comfortable ride.
