Alternatives
to the Lifestyle treadmill
As a brand, Sears have produced their own rebadged versions of
many different household items over the years, from video games
to fitness equipment, and the Lifestyle treadmill was one of
those Sears own brands which has since been replaced. However,
one thing that the Sears brand had, which attracted many
customers, is an attractive price tag, and the Lifestyle
treadmill was no different.
The problem is, that while many people still hanker after the
Lifestyle treadmill, because of its attractive price and budget
features, it is slightly difficult to come by, except on the
second hand market. As many owners of fitness equipment will
tell you, buying second hand equipment is rarely ever a good
idea, and this is no exception.
On the other hand, if you are careful to check over the goods
before you pay, there is no reason why a well-kept or rarely
used Lifestyle treadmill should not be purchased on the used
market. However, there are alternatives which offer similar
features to these low end treadmills, at the same attractive
price.
The key points to look for when trying to get the same kind of
price/quality ratio that was offered by the Lifestyle treadmill
are the engine, running board and belt. At the price point that
these models occupied, advanced electronics, such as
automatically variable speed and incline will be offered but
only at the expense of a lower grade motor or less robust
running board.
Try to go for a model which has the best build quality you can,
and an engine of around 1.75 horse power, with basic timer and
workout electronics and you will be getting a machine that
offers the same configuration at a similar price to the
Lifestyle treadmill.
