Safety tips for spinning bikes – go for a spin

Spinning bikes have become all the rage as an alternative to gaining fitness. However, it may pose some discomforts for beginners. Most beginners complain of a distressing sense of tiredness when they first start off on these. Spinning is an incredible form of exercise and you should not be discouraged if you feel slight discomfort the first few days of using spinning bikes. This is natural because you are not used to the workout and motion of these bikes. But you will see that with time, usually in a week, you will not feel any fatigue or aches at all.

Before starting out, always check to see that your bike is adjusted correctly. Most often the positioning of seats causes discomfort to riders. You may also ask your fitness equipment dealer for help to align your seat properly. Also, adjust the distance of the seat from the handlebars so that it is comfortable for you. Don’t ignore the handlebars. If you suffer from any type of back problems it is best that you keep the handlebars a bit higher than normal. This would prevent you from holding a hunched over position throughout the spinning session.

When using spinning bikes make sure that you have enough resistance to stay in control of the bike. If ever you feel that you are bouncing up and down on the seat this means that you are lacking resistance. It is this bouncing out of control that contributes to bruises. So take command of the bike and increase the resistance.
